seagull picking at the carcass of a rat on a street that residents claim is 'overrun' with vermin.Residents in Wavertree, Liverpool have grown increasingly frustrated at the number of rats that have been spotted running on streets, and even into houses, leaving families worried to let their children play outside.Some have even taken to social media claiming the rodents have become more 'like residents' in the area, Liverpool Echo reports.READ MORE: Horror as mouse nest found in fridge at filthy takeaway with greasy wallsBut one Facebook user has since shared a shocking video, in a group for the local area, of a seagull picking at a dead rat on Thornycroft Road at around 7pm on Tuesday evening (July 26).The seagull can be seen picking up the rat's body and dragging it on the street.
Sharing the video with local media, the resident said he has lived in the area for around 10 years, but has never seen the situation "so bad".
He added: "This is a massive problem in this area, we need more done. Our children play out on these disgusting streets. I have lived here 10 years and never known it to be so bad.
