Diplo went virtual for a Major Lazer concert on Friday night (May 1), performing live on a festival-like digital stage in Fortnite's new Party Royale mode.
Unlike Fortnite's previous in-game concerts, where artists like Marshmello and Travis Scott performed as actual Fortnite-esque characters, Diplo's Major Lazer performance was a live stream video embedded in a virtual environment reminiscent of a large outdoor music festival.
Fortnite's new weapons-free Party Royale mode takes place on a small virtual island where gamers trade in fighting for hanging out and dancing.
