Dick Van Dyke was reportedly behind the wheel of a car involved in a crash in Malibu. Police responded to reports of a single-car accident and discovered the 97-year-old actor behind the wheel of a 2018 Lexus LS 500.
The vehicle had crashed into a gate after Dick lost control on the road following heavy rainfall in Los Angeles. The Hollywood star was understood to have been found bleeding from the nose and mouth while potentially suffering a concussion.
He told police his car skidded in the rain, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, the Mirror reports. One reason for this was concerns over his age and ability to drive. The actor was picked up by someone after the incident, meaning he didn't have to drive home from the scene.
