Dick Van Dyke suffered minor injuries after he crashed his car into a gate on Wednesday (March 15). The 97-year-old legendary actor lost control of his Lexus in Malibu and had a bloody nose and mouth, as well as a possible concussion. Keep reading to find out more… The Mary Poppins actor was treated at the scene by paramedics. Van Dyke was not taken to the hospital after the accident and but was picked up by a friend who took him home, according to TMZ.
Police said drugs and alcohol were not involved in the crash, however they reportedly submitted documents to the DMV requesting Van Dyke retake his driving test.
The actor starred in the classic show The Dick Van Dyke Show with Mary Tyler Moore from 1961–1966. Dick recently opened up about the reasons he’s so energetic at the age of 97 and how his wife Arlene Silver takes care of him.
