Leading Irish designer Paul Costelloe has said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the right decision to escape life in the British royal family.

And he said Buckingham Palace simply ‘couldn’t handle’ the force of Ms Markle’s celebrity and personality. Costelloe, who could count Princess Diana as a fan, told EVOKE: ‘I don’t think they could handle her.

Coming from Hollywood and being dropped into Buckingham Palace, it was just very badly handled.’ Costelloe himself had a stumbling induction into royal life when one day he was summoned by Princess Diana to come to Kensington Palace with some of his creations.
