The fire snatched their home away. "8 hours and 6 fire trucks couldn’t extinguish this GDA followed passive house - which kept the smouldering fire in its belly." A passive home has a very small ecological footprint and doesn't use much energy for heating or cooling.
The house was owned by a couple with three young children who were living in a camper van as they prepared to move into their dream home.
Cameras had followed their every move over the last few months, as they started to put the last few finishing touches to the build.
