David Beckham's Inter Miami were among the teams who joined the NBA in boycotting matches on Wednesday in protest against racial injustice following the shooting of Jacob Blake.
Players in both the NBA and WNBA declined to play in support of Black Lives Matter after Mr Blake was shot by a police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Sunday.
Five of the six scheduled Major League Soccer games were also postponed - including Inter Miami's game against Atalanta United - while three Major League Baseball games were called off as players stood down.
The protest began when the Wisconsin-based Milwaukee Bucks boycotted their NBA play-off game against the Orlando Magic. Leading 3-1 and needing just one more win to move into the Eastern Conference
