Danny Murphy has slammed Manchester City's plans to give champions Liverpool a guard of honour as "a load of nonsense". Pep Guardiola confirmed that his side would applaud the Reds on to the pitch on Thursday evening when they face off at the Etihad.

City's defeat at Chelsea last week sent the title to Anfield for the first time in 30 years with seven games to spare. But Murphy, who played 246 times for Liverpool between 1997 and 2004, isn't a fan of City's planned gesture.
