Liverpool have announced they will not place non-playing staff on furlough. The Reds have performed a U-turn on their controversial decision to use the government's Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

Liverpool chief executive Peter Moore has penned a letter to all supporters admitting the club were “wrong” to make the initial choice.

The Reds were going to use the scheme which sees the government pay 80 per cent of each employee's salary up to £2,500 a month and then top up the rest to ensure they all received full pay.
