Dan Walker has had a light-hearted pop at his BBC Breakfast pal Sally Nugent after she signed up for a dance event without him.

The TV presenter recently showed off his moves on the Strictly dance floor. So when he heard that Sally would be taking part in an upcoming Strictly charity ball he joked that he was a little miffed not to have been asked to partner her.The Strictly-style event is being organised by the sisters of former rugby star Rob Burrow, who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2019.Sally posted a message on Twitter saying that she had signed up for the ball in aid of the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) appeal."Can't quite believe I'm doing this," she told her followers."But there's only one person who could persuade me.

And it's @Rob7Burrow."Dan chimed in after the news was announced, teasing Sally that he thought he might have been a good person to take her for a spin on the dancefloor."I can't believe you haven't asked me to be your partner," he joked, adding the hashtag "#SofaSalsa".However, Dan clearly didn't really have hard feelings and he followed up his post with another, saying: "Wonderful stuff."Go on Sal!!!"Dan and Sally have been presenting the BBC morning show together regularly since late 2021, after Louise Minchin left the programme. The pair have developed a strong working relationship and Dan recently revealed his affectionate new nickname for his co-host - Side-on Sally. The name is apparently a nod to the fact that the pair sit side by side on the sofa.

And it is a play on Al Green's 1990 hit Ride Sally Ride. For more of the latest showbiz news from Daily Star, make sure you sign up to one of our newsletters here . .
