DAN Walker paid a heart-warming tribute to his former BBC Breakfast co-presenter, Carol Kirkwood with a surprising selfie. In 2016, Dan replaced Bill Turnbull as presenter of BBC Breakfast.
He has since left BBC Breakfast and now works on 5 News on Channel 5. To mark the BBC's 40th Anniversary, Dan took to Instagram and shared a rare selfie with his former co-star, Carol Kirkwood branding her the "best".
He captioned the post: "Happy 40th birthday to BBC Breakfast. It was a real privilege to sit on the famous sofa for 6 years." He continued: "It is a special programme, made by an brilliant, dedicated team and it continues to be an important show for the huge, loyal audience." Carol, 60, joined BBC Breakfast in the summer of the show’s launch in 1983 as a production secretary.
She then left and returned a few times over the years in different roles before joining the show as a weather presenter in 1998.
