The data, from Transport for Greater Manchester, reveals that four cyclists were killed or seriously injured on the borough’s roads from March to December 2019 — but this figure was 10 the following year.
One councillor leading the authority’s push for improved cycling infrastructure described the trend as ‘concerning’. Coun David Meller, cabinet member for economy and regeneration, said: “It is a concerning increase, going from four to 10 and as a council we are going to look at those individual incidents.
