United confirmed on Friday that Romero would be one of eight releases when contracts expire on June 30 - alongside the likes of Joel Pereira, Max Taylor and Aliou Traore - and will leave the club after six years.
The goalkeeper only made 61 appearances at Old Trafford as he largely played second fiddle to David de Gea during his stint, but he did enjoy highlights such as keeping a clean sheet in the Europa League final victory over Ajax in 2017.
