BBC documentary amid claims that it was all a scam.Hanad Hassan, 20, was part of the BBC’s show The Crypto Millionaire – due to be broadcast on Wednesday, February 9 – after he claimed to have been able to quit two jobs and drop out of university by making £1million from just £37.The 20-year-old from Birmingham also featured on an article on the BBC’s website too.However, both have now been removed, with the corporation saying they are looking into “editorial issues”.
The BBC did not mention that Hassan's cryptocurrency OrfanoX was abruptly shut down in October last year – leaving many unhappy investors claiming it was a "scam".
According to the Daily Mail, BBC chiefs are reportedly "investigating" the claims, while sources have said the decision to pull down the article is "exasperating”.
OrfanoX has not posted on Twitter posted since October 5 and Instagram since October 3, with many social media users commenting that the investment was actually a scam as they had lost their cash.
