Food company Nutricia has withdrawn Cow & Gate and Aptamil muesli products as some packs have been found to contain pieces of apple stalks, an alert on the Food Standards Agency website said. "The presence of the apple stalks presents a choking hazard to babies making these products unsafe to eat," said the bulletin.

The alert went on that it had previously issued a warning about the same products on January 15 but they had now been 'rereleased in error'.
