Corrie's Curly Watts star thanks ITV soap for 'not axing him' at height of drugs battle

Talking on Loose Women the actor - known as fan favourite Curly Watts - took his opportunity to thank bosses at the hit Weatherfield based soap for their support when he was battling alcoholism.
Kevin, 60, appeared on the show on Tuesday (May 3) to discuss his latest venture as he addressed what life was like as an actor with an addiction problem.The star then confessed to feeling grateful that rather than sacking him ITV supported him by offering to send him to rehab to help him overcome the crippling effects of the disease.He said: "Addicts are very clever, you know, they're very clever.
A lot of people say was it the pressure of Coronation Street... No. I think I would have become an addict no matter what I was doing."Coronation Street, I'll never forget them because they were very forward-thinking.
