Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell hasn't even departed the ITV cobbles yet, and she's already teased an epic return to the soap.Alexandra is best known for starring as Steve McDonald's daughter Emma Brooker in Corrie, and officially announced her exit last month. The star told The Sun at the time: "Playing Emma, on the most iconic street there is, has been the best experience of my life."Compared to other cast members I still feel like a newbie, which makes my decision to leave all the more difficult.

But I feel it’s the right time for me."But Alexandra says the door has been left open for her return, with Emma departing in one of three epic ways.Though she avoids certain death - for now - Corrie bosses have confirmed that Emma could be heading for prison after the accidental death of Ted while she and Faye were driving. But with romance heating up between Emma and Ted's grandson Jon, she could also be set to move to Australia with him - or flee the cobbles on her own if Jon finds out the sick truth about his granddad's death.Speaking to Daily Star about her exit, Alexandra admitted: "I’m so pleased [that Emma isn’t being killed off].

I’m really, really pleased. "I think even saying goodbye was hard enough, but that little hope of maybe one day there’s a possibility I could go back kind of keeps you going.

It’s not goodbye forever, you never know. I’m really glad that she wasn’t killed off."But how would Emma cope behind bars?Alexandra explained: "It would not be good, I feel like she would be targeted straight away, poor Emma!"But what would be interesting to see if she went to prison and came back in the future, how she would’ve changed.
