Bethlehem is on lockdown with US tourists confined to their rooms after hotel guests tested positive for coronavirus. A total of 15 Americans have been quarantined at the Angel Hotel as part of precautions against COVID-19, a Palestinian government spokesman said on Saturday.
The city in the occupied West Bank has been in lockdown since cases of the virus were recorded there on Thursday. So far 22 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Palestine and 21 in Israel, of which everyone has recovered.
No people are reported to have died yet. Some of the first cases there in Palestine were reported among staff at the Angel Hotel.
