Coronavirus: Premier League to plead with clubs to finish season at crunch meeting

The Premier League will plead with its 20 member clubs to finish the season when they meet on Thursday. Options will be put forward during a conference call for the top flight to be ready when it is safe to play again.

It is understood the will from the Premier League is to resolve all outstanding issues from the 2019/20 season, also to complete its contractual obligations to broadcasters around the world.

It comes amid concern that the season could be voided as the coronavirus spreads. It also comes after clubs in the Football League voted yesterday to finish their season when the games begin again.
