Germany is banning public meetings of more than two people, to minimise the risk of Covid-19 spreading through social interactions.
The move was the latest in efforts to limit the spread of Covid-19, which had infected more than 22,000 in the country, the Independent reported.
Only 84 deaths have been reported in Germany - a significantly lower rate than seen in the rest of the world. Chancellor Angela Merkel - who is now in self-isolation herself - said the policy did not apply to those who lived in the same household. "The danger lies in the direct social interaction," Merkel said.
