A mysterious new coronavirus-related illness has hit the headlines this week after UK doctors were issued urgent alerts about its affect on children.
At least 12 British children are thought to have been hit by the illness, which is being described as an ‘inflammatory syndrome’, similar to Kawasaki disease and toxic shock syndrome.
Now, a case report from the beginning of April has resurfaced, detailing what’s believed to be one of the first-known cases of the virus-related illness.
The report explains that a six-month-old female with confirmed coronavirus was also diagnosed and treated for Kawasaki disease (KD).
