Bosch has denied putting staff’s health "at risk" in a desperate bid to get ahead of its rivals during the coronavirus lockdown.
Despite government orders for all non-essential business operations to halt during the deadly Covid-19 outbreak, the boiler firm's Worcester branch wants to ensure it doesn't fall behind.
With certain competitor factories having shut their doors for the foreseeable future, the Bosch plant has been telling production staff to continue working, heightening the risk of them catching the virus.
There will then be a brief shutdown period for a fortnight from April 6 in which staff are to use holiday allowance - before returning later in the month in an effort to get a head start on summer production.
