Fans of ITV soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale can expect to see some big changes to their favourite pubs in the coming days as The Rovers Return and The Woolpack begin to stock alcohol free beer on tap.
Thanks to a partnership with Heineken, 0.0 draught taps will now be featured on both sets, dispensing alcohol free beer alongside the already iconic fictional brews from Newton and Ridley and Ephraim Monk. The introduction of the new taps is park of Heineken’s commitment to normalising alcohol-free beer sales, with the brand hoping that by seeing it served up in two of the most recognisable pubs in the UK, the move will help to normalise the drink for customers over the next year.
James Crampton, Director for Heineken UK said: "In light of people’s evolving lifestyles and changes to their relationships with alcohol, we’ve done a lot to raise the profile of Low and No beer in recent years – this is the next phase.
We are totally committed to bringing Low and No beer from the periphery into the mainstream."
