A community Secret Santa which organisers say is the largest in the UK has spread festive cheer to more than 800 Ayrshire homes.Troon’s Secret Santa has been hailed a huge success this year with children across the town buzzing after a kind stranger dropped gifts at their door.
In the eighth year of the community drop-off, an army of 30 Santas delivered 896 gifts to children, with the volunteers carrying out a mass 'chap door, run' operation.Incredibly, the present drop was orchestrated from the other side of the world with ex-Troon resident Campbell Malone, who lives in Auckland, New Zealand, pulling the strings.Campbell, who previously worked at the Ailsa shipyard, was unable to return to his Ayrshire home for Christmas due to Covid
