Monica Aldama is a legend in the sport of competitive cheerleading, but you probably never heard her name before the Netflix docuseries “Cheer” debuted earlier this year.
If there is a Pat Summit, Mike Krzyzewski or Phil Jackson in the sport it’s Aldama. Since she took over as coach of Navarro College’s cheer program the school has won 14 national championships since 2000 alone.
