Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere have reached record highs amid critical climate change talks. UN scientists have issued a warning as planet-warming gasses, including carbon dioxide, rose to record levels last year.
CO2 and other heat trapping gases in the atmosphere increased at a greater rate in 2020 than over the previous decade - with the trend continuing into this year, according to the UN's World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).
Despite most of the world being locked down at some point during the last 18-months, there has been a more discernible impact on the levels of damaging gases in the earth's atmosphere.Although there was a temporary decline in new emissions, the WMO said.
