CHRIS Moyles has some words of wisdom for the three DJs licking their wounds after being axed from Radio 1. Dev Griffin, Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart will all leave in a shake-up aimed at bringing in new talent.
Chris, who was axed from The Breakfast Show in 2012, said: “Radio 1 is a conveyor belt, and at some time you will fall off it, because of age or not being relevant any more.” Chris, now on Radio X, added: “The story goes I was too old for the show.
I was 38 when they took us off. They recently hired some DJs who were that age. The show is yours for a while – it is like renting a house for a bit.” Sounds like it’s time for this trio to hand back the keys . . .
