In the past two weeks, the centre of the coronavirus outbreak has shifted. While it was once seen as a Chinese problem – with President Trump constantly insisting on Covid-19 as “The Chinese Virus” – the epicentre of the outbreak is now firmly established in Europe.
And China is working hard to prevent any hint of a "second wave" to the pandemic within its borders. This week, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it planned to ban all foreigners from entering the country.
The Beijing government is building a “fortress” against coronavirus. “The suspension is a temporary measure that China is compelled to take in light of the outbreak situation and the practices of other countries,” a statement announcing the decision said.
