CHER has admitted she found it "very difficult" to accept her son Chaz Bono coming out as trans. The pop icon, 74, confessed that Chaz's transition from female to male between 2008 and 2010 "wasn't easy" at first.
Chaz, 51, who was born as Chastity to Cher and the late Sonny Bono, came out as a lesbian before his transition. Cher admitted that, as a staunch advocate of the LGBTQ community, she was surprised by her initial reaction. "It was very unlike me to, in the beginning, have a problem with Chaz being gay, and it disappeared like that," she told CNN. “Then we talked about [whether Chaz was] transgender for many years and [he] would say, ‘No, I don’t want to [transition]'.
