Lampard having lost confidence in Kepa after a series of errors last season. Chelsea's latest signing was scouted out by Stamford Bridge goalkeeping legend Petr Cech, who himself joined from Rennes and is now the club's technical and performance adviser.And while Mendy has been brought in to provide competition for Kepa, the Senegalese keeper could become Lampard's No1 straight away.
That's according to The Sun, which says the manager has not yet made a decision over Kepa's future but is open to the idea of sending the Spaniard out on loan.
Lampard dropped Kepa in favour of backup keeper Willy Caballero for two periods during last season, including the FA Cup semi-final and final.
