Chelsea will look to strengthen their squad in three more positions after wrapping up a transfer for Kai Havertz. The Blues are trying to get a deal finished for the German midfielder, who is valued at £90m by Bayer Leverkusen.
But a mega-money transfer for the 21-year-old, the highest scorer in Bundesliga history for his age, will not mean the end of business for the London side this summer.
Speaking on the London is Blue podcast, journalist Matt Law said: “When they get Kai Havertz over the line, which I think is a when rather than an if, I think the defensive positions, a left back, potentially a centre back, and a goalkeeper will take a lot longer." Chelsea’s top left-back priority has been Leicester’s Ben Chilwell while Real Madrid.
