Frank Lampard wants to turn West Ham midfielder Declan Rice into a leading defender at Chelsea. The Blues are increasingly confident they can convince the 21-year-old to cross London this summer and agree to drop back from his current holding midfield position into the centre of defence.
Chelsea have already signed midfielder Hakim Ziyech and striker Timo Werner, but Lampard is keen to continue the spree and shore up a back line that has cost them valuable points this season.
