Timo Werner was right to jump at the chance to move to Chelsea and not wait for Liverpool, according to the former Blues midfielder Michael Ballack.
Germany forward Werner was widely expected to move to Anfield this summer as Jurgen Klopp looked to improve the newly-crowned Premier League champions' squad.
But with the coronavirus pandemic forcing the Reds to re-examine their transfer plans, Chelsea stole a march on the Merseysiders and agreed a deal for the RB Leipzig forward.
Werner will join up with Frank Lampard's squad for the beginning of the 2020/21 season, linking up with the Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech at Stamford Bridge.
