Charlie Watts has sadly died. The legendary drummer for the Rolling Stones passed away at the age of 80, AP confirmed Tuesday (August 24). Click inside to read more… The drummer’s publicist Bernard Doherty said that he “passed away peacefully in a London hospital earlier today surrounded by his family.” “Charlie was a cherished husband, father and grandfather and also as a member of The Rolling Stones one of the greatest drummers of his generation,” he continued. Charlie was a member of the Rolling Stones since 1963.
He originally joined their group as a drummer, as well as a designer of their record covers and tour stages. He was featured on all of their studio albums.
