Would-be punters reported being unable to get into the theme park and zoo in Surrey, around 12 miles south of central London, as frustrated parents gave up.
Some claimed dozens of children were left crying with wait times of over two hours reported. There were claims from some of those there that too few staff checking temperatures as is required before entry, according to Surrey Live.
A spokesperson for Chessington said earlier this afternoon that queues had been worked through and that those waiting through and had been allowed inside.
