Kate Garraway‘s documentary about her husband's battle with Covid-19 aired on ITV. Former political adviser Derek Draper, 53, was left fighting for his life after contracting coronavirus last year.

He was placed in a medically induced coma and doctors told Ms Garraway, also 53, that he was the most seriously ill person they had seen who was still alive.

The documentary Finding Derek also featured the couple’s two children, daughter Darcey, 15, and 11-year-old son Billy. It detailed the family’s experiences during Derek’s illness and featured Good Morning Britain presenter Ms Garraway speaking to people suffering long Covid, NHS staff and other experts.
