The weatherman joined Kate Garraway on the main desk to host, and he received words of encouragement from his co-star. After Alex praised Kate following the airing of her Finding Derek documentary, she said: "And you've had tumultuous times as well Alex, it's lovely to have you here, it very much is." He replied: "It's good to be back." And Alex was soon up on his feet with a smile on his face to demonstrate his impressive hula-hooping prowess.
