In the three years since the Scottish Government has had the legislative powers to introduce social security benefits, it has delivered 11, including seven new ones with more to come as 17 are due to be introduced in total.
Social Security Scotland estimates it will deliver support to one in three people across the country in addition to the localised help available through all 32 regional council areas, including Council Tax Reductions and additional support measures for those on a low-income.
Although Covid-19 had an impact on the timetable for delivery of Scottish benefits, over the last year, four new benefits were introduced.
