British tourist dies after plunging seven floors from Magaluf hotel balcony
dailystar.co.ukholidaymaker has died after a horror fall from the seventh floor of a Magaluf hotel.The 34-year-old unnamed male died instantly after falling from the Hotel Malia South Beach.Civil Guard sources say they believe he could have been under the effects of alcohol or some type of substance due to his “strange” behaviour before the incident.A Civil Guard spokesman confirmed the incident had happened around 8.30am this morning.The spokesman said: “The dead man is a 34-year-old British man.
The incident is very recent and there’s not a lot we can say at the moment as the investigation is ongoing.” A well-placed source close to the case added: “He plunged from the seventh floor of a hotel called South Beach in Magaluf.“We think he may have been drunk at the time because of the way he was acting before the incident but it is really is too early to say for sure what has happened here. “At the moment it is being treated as an accident rather than a crime although the dead man is thought to have been with other people when this drama occurred.”The unnamed British man was pronounced dead at the scene.It is not yet clear if he was staying at the hotel where the incident occurred, or was just there visiting friends.On May 3 an Irish tourist was rushed to hospital after falling from a second-floor apartment in the nearby holiday resort of Santa Ponsa.The 50-year-old was described as “serious” when paramedics drove him from the scene to Son Espases Hospital in the island capital Palma.Sources said he was unconscious with head injuries when they arrived and smelt of alcohol.
