Armed police have descended on a busy north Manchester shopping park after reports of a 'man with a gun'. Police were called out shortly after 4pm today (December 8) following reports of a man with a suspected firearm at Manchester Fort, off Cheetham Hill Road.

Three police cars could be seen parked near to the Asda Living, Mothercare and Sports Direct stores shortly before 6pm. Police are continuing their enquiries and any witnesses are being urged to come forward with information.
