As a team of PPE-clad medics wheeled the youngster down a corridor, his distraught mum Elle, 32, feared he would lose his fight and she would walk out the same doors alone.
Kawasaki disease had caused his heart, arteries and other organs to become inflamed, and coronavirus was attacking his lungs, resulting in him being unconscious and on oxygen at times as medics fought to save his life.
