Parents have described their heartbreak after their three-year-old boy's illness which they expected to be tonsillitis turned out to be cancer.
Since November, Archie Galloway had been battling exhaustion and stopped eating properly. But at Christmas when Archie was too unwell to even enjoy opening his presents alarm bells rang for the family.
His mum Lisa, a teacher, said it was heartbreaking to watch her son’s decline. She said he went from an energetic little boy to being unable to climb the stairs.
The family from Bathgate, West Lothian, Scotland, were given the shocking news that Archie had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, a cancer of the while blood cells, on March 6.
