Prime Minister and the chancellor, Rishi Sunak, will join the campaign trail in a bid to boost the Tories flatline polling. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Ross suggested senior members of the UK Government would take part in his faltering campaign which has seen the Scottish Tories fail to move the dial in opinion polling despite SNP splits and the success of the covid vaccine roll-out.Ross said that it had not yet been decided how Westminster ministers would take part in the campaign but that they would be backing his determined pro-Union crusade.Because of covid restrictions the contribution from senior Tories might be virtual, although the PM made a covid-related trip to Scotland in January.
