Boris Johnson has refused to confirm that he will make the £20 Universal Credit uplift permanent - leaving hard-up families facing a £1040 cut in April.
SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford called on Mr Johnson’s Government to commit to making the increase permanent. He said: “With mass unemployment looming, having the right social security measures in place to help families over the long term is vital.
