'Boozy' woman, 40, stuck head-first in sofa needed to be lifted out by her legs

Prosecco brunch got wedged upside down behind the sofa of a plush restaurant when she reached down to get a pal's jacket. Two employees of Twelve Twenty Five in North Shields, had to grab Lindsay Clark, 40, by the legs and yank her out of the sticky situation.

She was out celebrating her pal Julie Jackson's birthday and the whole incident, unfortunately for a "mortified" Lindsay, was caught on camera.She said: "I reached down to get my friend's jacket and it slid further towards the floor and I went with it until I was wedged in the hole."I had to get the two employees to pull me out.

I couldn't push myself out because of the position I was in."I probably would have been okay if I was a bit skinnier but I got stuck.

Of course, my friends were there to film it."The bar have shared it on their Facebook page so they can't have thought it was that bad."Lindsay, who drank "a lot of Prosecco" with her pals, looks unbelievably embarrassed as she is yanked from the hole."I have bruises on my boobs and belly where I was stuck and scratches on my legs as the back of the sofa was made with wood," she said."It was mortifying but it didn't ruin my night, everyone knows that's what I'm like anyway."Support worker Julie, of Newcastle, said: "We were out celebrating my birthday."We were drinking all sorts but a lot of Prosecco."My other friend's jacket fell behind the sofa so Lindsay reached down to get it and fell behind the sofa.For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here."She was stuck for about ten minutes in total.
