Police have today confirmed that a body found in a forest is missing mum Katie Kenyon. The devastating discovery was made in the Forest of Boland on Friday evening shortly after police were given new information about where to search for the mother-of-two.

Katie, 33, was last seen getting in to a Ford Transit van in Burnley on the morning of April 22. A man has since appeared in court charged with her murder. Lancashire Police said in a statement today: "We can now sadly confirm that the body found in the Forest of Bowland is that of Katie Kenyon.

Police found Katie on Friday following extensive searches and she has now been formally identified as the missing Padiham mum, 33. "Our thoughts remain with Katie’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.
