direct to your inboxA number of suspected hand grenades have been dismantled in a field after a bomb scare prompted a huge evacuation in Trafford.The bomb squad dismantled the weapons at Turn Moss playing fields after they were discovered during raids in Stretford over the last few days.All other seized items, including suspected firearms, have been moved so they can been assessed by experts, a GMP spokeswoman said.A series of raids have taken place across Stretford, Trafford, and Wythenshawe in neighbouring south Manchester since the early hours of Thursday.Six properties were searched and nine suspects were arrested.Four have been released while five men remain in custody.
