Bolton town hall will be lit up tomorrow to show sympathy over the death of American George Floyd. Council bosses across Greater Manchester have agreed to the move and have released a statement condemning the incident which has sparked riots across the US.
Mr Floyd died after a police officer spent nine minutes holding his knee to the man's neck, an altercation which was caught on camera.
It has been followed by protests and riots, with campaigners using the slogan Black Lives Matter to stand against systemic racial inequality within the American justice system.
The town hall will be bathed in light on Friday evening to symbolise Greater Manchester's sympathy over Mr Floyd's death. In a statement signed off by all Greater Manchester council
