Some patients awaiting “routine” surgeries at the Royal Bolton Hospital have had their operations postponed due to the coronavirus crisis.
As pressure on the NHS mounts, a spokesman for Bolton NHS Trust posted on Facebook warning that some procedures would need to be cancelled and rescheduled.
In other cases, planned appointments are being conducted over the phone to save patients from having to come into the hospital.
Staff will contact people in advance to let them know if their surgery has been postponed. In the Facebook post, the hospital said: “We have started postponing some routine operations.
