Elderly East Kilbride residents are being warned to be on their guard after bogus workmen conned two vulnerable pensioners out of cash.
An 85-year-old Westwood woman was overcharged £600 by the crooks who failed to clean her gutters at Vancouver Drive on March 2.The first suspect was described as aged 55-60, with a slim build and wearing a blue jacket and black beanie hat.The second suspect was described as 45-55 years old, with reddish spikey hair, wearing a dark blue jacket with cloth badges, driving a small white van.Then on March 5 in Carlyle Drive, Calderwood, an 81-year-old woman was targeted.She was charged £60 to have gutters cleaned but the work was never carried out.The elderly resident also noticed her purse had been stolen from
